In their final game of the exhibition schedule, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins scored a 2-1 victory over the Hershey Bears at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
The game was tied at one in the third frame when Philip Samuelsson took a drop pass from Zach Sill in the high slot, cut toward the far post and slipped the puck shot under the pad of goaltender Riley Gill.
Eric Hartzell, in net for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, made sure Samuelsson’s marker stood as the game-winner as he made a flurry of saves in the final seconds of regulation. The rookie netminder finished with 20 saves on 21 shots for his second win of the preseason.
The Penguins went up, 1-0, midway through the first period with the help of some extended 5-on-3 power play time.
