Story Details

Work at Capital City Centre (formerly known as Colwood Corners) is proceeding apace. Work currently underway involves pile driving to ensure the security of the road close to the excavations, as well as keeping water out of the hole. This is being done through a vibration technique, which is quicker than a hammer and will take less time overall.

Work at Capital City Centre (formerly known as Colwood Corners) is proceeding apace. Work currently underway involves pile driving to ensure the security of the road close to the excavations, as well as keeping water out of the hole. This is being done through a vibration technique, which is quicker than a hammer and will take less time overall.

This has resulted in some severe shaking for local businesses. For those with sensitive equipment – such as MD Aesthetics, the medical clinic and the South Island Optometrists – it has created some real challenges. Staff from the City of Colwood have been working hard with League Assets (the developer), Farmer Construction and the local businesses to see if there are ways to minimize the impacts.

The answer may be in foam ...
