Police release video of suspect regarding Jan 13, 2012 arson in West Vancouver linked to Justice Institute and ICBC investigation

Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect seen on video allegedly committing an arson to a home

Video Description - Still-capture video footage shows a side view of the front of a house. A man wearing a light coloured ball cap, and a two-toned jacket with dark chest, pants and shoes, holds a jerry can. The man pours a liquid from the jerry can on the top of the door of the house, while standing on his toes. A light coloured belt on his pants is visible, and it is apparent the man has a slim build.

On January 13, 2012, at approximately 2:40am, the West Vancouver Police responded to a report of a house fire in the 1000 block Lawson Ave, West Vancouver.

The fire was extinguished by the WVFD and the damage was contained to the front of the residence. Upon arrival West Vancouver officers quickly determined that the fire was intentionally set.

"The video is quite good quality, so we are hopeful someone will recognize this male suspect through the combination of slim build, jacket, ball cap, duffel bag and light colored belt," says Sgt Peter Thiessen, senior spokesperson for the BC Lower Mainland District RCMP.
