Rosemont, Ill. ---Goaltender Joe Cannata stopped 36 shots and forward Michael Davies buried a pair of first-period goals to spark the Chicago Wolves to a 3-2 Illinois Lottery Cup victory over Rockford on Sunday afternoon at Allstate Arena.
Defenseman Kevin Connauton scored the game-winner at 16:55 of the second period as the Wolves (29-19-4-4) defeated the IceHogs for the sixth time in nine meetings this season.
“Those were two tired teams out there tonight,” said Wolves head coach Scott Arniel. “But at the end of the day we found a way to get out with a win.”
