Greg is a senior executive and entrepreneur with nearly 15 years of experience and leadership in the media/communications and information technology industries. Greg's involvement with SendtoNews started in January 2011 as a strategic advisor. He came on board full-time as President in May.
Prior to his appointment at SendtoNews, Greg was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Seeker Solutions, where he was responsible for global sales and marketing strategies that resulted in a focused, recognized brand in the semantic, contextual-based search and machine learning (AI) industry. Greg also handled strategic planning and communications, as well as value-added OEM and reseller partnerships. He worked with clients and partners in Canada, the US and throughout Europe.
Previously, Greg was Managing Director for the recruiting firm The Mergis Group, running its British Columbia operations out of Vancouver. He also founded and led two businesses, BPG – Bobolo Publications Group Ltd. and Dream House Publications Ltd. Greg led Dream House from startup in 2001 to a multimillion dollar operation in seven years, earning him a 2006 ERNST & YOUNG Entrepreneur of the Year Award finalist nomination.
As Chief Operating Officer, Sean brings to SendtoNews more than a decade of senior executive experience, including visionary leadership with some of the world's top companies in the information technology and digital media industries. Sean has a keen sense of business operations, technical strategy and marketing, and he has managed global relationships with many of the top international organizations in both media and sports. His relevant background includes cloud-based video distribution and IPTV.
At SendtoNews, Sean provides a clear strategic focus and direction for the team. He is responsible for all internal processes, as well as the day-to-day management of operations at all of the company's primary and satellite offices.
As Executive VP, Sales & Strategic Partnerships, Philippe is responsible for defining strategic sales objectives and action plans. He also works with major brands and agencies in Toronto & New York, serving as SendtoNews' lead representative in these key regions. Philippe is also working closely with SendtoNews' CEO, setting up distribution deals with print and broadcast media partners, as well as delivering major national brands for advertising sponsorship.
Prior to joining SendtoNews, Philippe served as Vice President, National Sales at Quebecor Media since 2009, where he led a large sales organization with the primary goal to develop an integrated approach to media sales. Leveraging all the assets of QMi, he saw first hand "the power of content", as QMi successfully transformed its content approach with the creation of the QMI Agency in late 2009.
Philippe has an extensive background in marketing, sales and logistics chain management, as well as more than 17 years of experience in consumer packaged goods and retail. He was previously Chief Marketing Officer with Laura Secord and has worked with other food industry leaders, including H.J. Heinz and Frito Lay.
Philippe holds a Bachelor of Administration from Université de Sherbrooke and an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.
As Vice President of Sales, Brian is responsible for the function and performance of SendtoNews' content sales team. He is a seasoned, strategic sales leader with extensive experience in the digital media/advertising space. Prior to his appointment at SendtoNews, Brian was Vice President, National Sales, at Genesis Media, a digital technology company providing engagement-based video ad solutions for fortune 500 advertisers.
He has also previously served as Vice President of Sales at Clickable (acquired by Syncapse), a company that manages search and social marketing with a specialized, proprietary platform. And prior to that position he was one of the earliest team members and ultimately served as Director of Sales, East Coast, at Brightroll, now one of the world's largest and most trusted video advertising networks.
JB has gained strong depth of knowledge as a seasoned business development executive, a market strategist and an investment banker over the last twenty years. At SendtoNews, JB has a wide array of responsibilities, from global content rights management and monetization to strategic corporate financing initiatives.
In addition to his role at SendtoNews, JB is an advisor at MK-Ultra, a mobile apps development agency, and IWantThatLook, a search platform for makeup how-to videos. Previously he was also CEO of Peerset (acquired by KIT Digital in 2011), one of the first software companies to analyze big data for content recommendations and ad targeting. Between 2006 and 2008, JB served as Senior Vice President, Sports Content & Platform Sales and Global Distribution for JumpTV, where he oversaw a 23 person team and whose clients and partners included Athletic Departments at Ohio State, Duke and Florida and internet brands Youtube, AOL and MySpace.
JB is also actively involved in his local community with a focus on youth development. He co-founded a non-profit called TennisTalk in 2000 and currently serves on the board of the Lighthouse Community Charter School in Oakland, California.
As a conventional broadcaster with over twenty years of on-air and production experience, Keith has significant 'inside the newroom' experience, having worked in both news and sports as an anchor, reporter and professional videographer experienced at shooting, editing and producing features. At SendtoNews, Keith uses his extensive knowledge of newsroom workflow to support our media side customers and their use of our system. Keith is also actively involved in the development of our strategic partnerships.
Keith has been on the cutting edge of digital and Internet video technology and New Media in general since 1998. He has extensive knowledge of camera and editing, compression and file transfer technology.
Marc has been involved in high technology ventures for nearly 15 years and has a proven capability to execute comprehensive, successful marketing programs. For SendtoNews, he plays a key role in the ongoing design and implementation of the SendtoNews system and related utilities. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's online and traditional marketing.
In 1998, Marc became one of four original partners in Carmanah Technologies Corporation, a global leader in solar-powered LED lighting. He was responsible for all marketing functions until 2006, and during his tenure the company grew from $700,000 in annual sales to more than $60 Million. Carmanah became a public corporation on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2001 (TSX: CMH).
Marc has been the recipient of national recognition for his contribution and vision in the field of marketing, including the Canadian eBusiness Award in the category of "B2B Small Enterprise" (2003), and "Best Investor Relations for a Venture Exchange Company" (co-recipient, 2005) awarded by the internationally recognized IR Magazine. His work has also been published in a number of national and international trade magazines, periodicals and newspapers.
David is a "deep thinker" and a communications specialist with over 20 years of experience, David has over 20 years of proven marketing achievements and is the founder of HarbourWerks Strategies Inc. For SendtoNews, he is responsible for the design and implementation of our strategic communications programs as well as growing our market prominence and brand.
In 2001, David began working with Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX: CMH) and his communications programs set the groundwork for the company to successfully leverage its core solar-powered LED marine lighting technology into new vertical markets. He successfully engaged editorial coverage around the world, from the New York Times to BBC News, as well as spearheaded Carmanah's awards nominations; the company has been honoured with more than 60 awards, including Canadian Exporter of the Year (2006) a GLOBE Award, and BC Technology Company of the Year (2007).
Peter has a rich interdisciplinary programming background spanning more than 25 years. From circuit board design and manufacturing to assembly language programming and the development of embedded systems, databases, Internet applications... he has truly done it all. Peter has developed a reputation for his gifted analytical skills and ability to develop solutions "outside of the box". He is responsible for the design and implementation of SendtoNews' software systems and utilities.
From 1993 to 2000, Peter served as the Manager of Information Systems for The Law Society of British Columbia. From 2000 - 2002, Peter took on the role of Senior Technology Architect for the society, where he lead the development of the Juricert™ Registration System, an online application that provides digital credentials for law professionals (extensively used to this day in the land title transfer process).
In 2002, Peter founded Beblo Technologies Inc., a software development firm that has produced a wide range of client-side and web-based applications, including a secure communications software platform that is in wide use by the North American power utility industry.
Peter has a Diploma in Programming and Systems Analysis from the Control Data Institute (1983).
Art has held senior management positions in the technology industry for more than 25 years. He is an experienced leader with an ability to inspire and motivate people towards common objectives.
Between 2000 and 2007, Art served as President and CEO of Carmanah Technologies Corporation, where he led the company's rapid transformation from a research and engineering start up with 12 employees and less than $1M in revenues to one of the world's fastest-growing renewable energy technology manufacturers with more than 250 employees and $60M+ in annual revenues. He was also instrumental in the company's transition to a public corporation (TSX: CMH) through a reverse takeover and was involved in two subsequent rounds of financing. Under his direction, Carmanah received more than fifty industry awards for business excellence and environmental leadership, while averaging annual revenue growth in excess of 80%.
Named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2006) for Canada's Pacific Region and the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre (VIATeC) Executive of the Year (2005), Art is one of western Canada's most influential technology executives. He is the Chairman of VIATeC board of directors and a past director of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA).
Prior to his position at Carmanah, Art served as President of Sharp's Audio Visual, Western Canada's largest audio-visual technology company, where he lead the company through nearly 20x revenue growth. He is also trained as a commercial pilot.
