The Penguins opened the game’s scoring at 8:21 of the first frame. Forward Beau Bennett beat B-Sens goalie Robin Lehner with assists from Riley Holzapfel and Robert Bortuzzo. The B-Sens evened the score at one on Derek Grant’s eleventh goal of the season at 16:30. Mark Stone and David Dziurzynski were credited with the assists. The B-Sens found another scoring opportunity during the second period as forward Mike Hoffman netted his eighth of the year. The goal was scored on a power play with helpers from Stephane Da Costa and Andre Benoit to give Binghamton the lead. In the third, forward Hugh Jessiman, assisted by Corey Cowick and Chris Wideman, added to Binghamton’s tally at 6:04 to expand their lead to two.
