Additionally, the Eclipse Awards are also given to recognize members of the media who have provided exemplary coverage of Thoroughbred racing events. The awards show is presented by Daily Racing Form, The Stronach Group and Breeders’ Cup on HRTV this Saturday and are produced by the NTRA.
The NTRA, formed in 1998 with offices in Lexington and New York City, is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests consisting of leading Thoroughbred racetracks, owners, breeders, trainers, horseplayers and affiliated horse racing associations. The association replaced the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America as the sponsor of the American Horse of the Year awards in 1998 and is charged with increasing the popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants.
