I'll Have Another is among the finalists for Horse of the Year

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla., VANCOUVER, BC January 18, 2013 - Digital sports news agency SendtoNews is pleased to announce that The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) have selected SendtoNews to distributed video highlights from the 42nd annual Eclipse Awards Saturday, January 19. The Eclipse Awards will take place at Gulfstream Park Racetrack and Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida.

“The Eclipse awards presents an opportunity for us to add thoroughbred racing highlights to our network of newsrooms and publishers, connecting us with new hyper-local markets and horse-racing fans across the country,” said CEO Greg Bobolo. “We are always interested in adding new diverse sports highlights to our growing roster of content creators, enabling us to be the only one-stop service that offers the depth and high quality sports coverage that newsrooms and publishers require.”

The Eclipse Awards, named after the undefeated 18th-century racehorse, are bestowed upon horses and individuals whose achievements have earned them the designation of Champion in their respective category. The voting for the awards takes place among designated representatives of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Daily Racing Form (DRF), and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB). Additionally, the Eclipse Awards are also given to recognize members of the media who have provided exemplary coverage of Thoroughbred racing events. The awards show is presented by Daily Racing Form, The Stronach Group and Breeders’ Cup on HRTV this Saturday and are produced by the NTRA.

The NTRA, formed in 1998 with offices in Lexington and New York City, is a broad-based coalition of horse racing interests consisting of leading Thoroughbred racetracks, owners, breeders, trainers, horseplayers and affiliated horse racing associations. The association replaced the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America as the sponsor of the American Horse of the Year awards in 1998 and is charged with increasing the popularity of horse racing and improving economic conditions for industry participants.
